This Is on how to make the bump map allso know as the _n file

You will need the DDS plug-in and the file has to be 512x512, 1024x1024, or 2048x2048. I have tried others and they don’t seem to work well but if you change the texture size to square like it should be you will have to reshape your UV's after you have your textures done you have make the _n file type this is simple really:

1. Save your file close it and open the file you just saved (if you do not do this you will get to many channels to export thingy latter)

2. ok now go to your channel box and delete what is currently named alpha if you don’t have one no sweat just skip this step

3 hit the little o thing at the bottom (load channel as selection) this will select all the highlights

4. Hit the little thing right next to it (save selection as layer) this will make you a new Alpha Layer

5. Select the new alpha layer and change its color to black (defaults red)

6. Now select your RBG channel the next step will not work if you do not

7. Now up at the top go filter-> nvidia tools->normalmapFilter (if you do not have this you did not download and install the plug-in)

8. in new window fool around a bit but basically the only thing Iv changed is the scale this controls the bump map 10 I say is max you ever want to use because any thing over looks lame and is way over done 5 for like rusty stuff and 2 for skin like stuff

9. Once that has done hit ok it turns every thing blue YAY lol

10. Save use same every thing you did for you first save but add a _n to the name

Sometimes you texture will look to bright or to dark you can change this by darkening/lighting the alpha channel you made in step 4
